Run winrar
Find the first file which is "rzr-gowa.001" from the main winrar window and double-click.
Extract rzr-gowa.iso file to a temp directory.
Download & install PowerISO.
Mount rzr-gowa.iso on a virtual drive and the installation process should start automatically. If it doesn't just double-click on the virtual drive from Windows Explorer.

It work's great all you do is use winrar and open the file that has .rar/.001 whichever there is and then it will extract the iso, You mount the iso with Magic disk, Alcohol 120%, Power iso, Dameon tools, Whatever you want and it will install, It may take awhile but then all you do is left click on the emulated disk drive that says gears of war and click explore. There should be a folder called razor, or something like that which doesent fit, Open the folder there should be a file that says startup.exe, Don't run it. Left click it and select "Copy" Then go to whatever folder you installed it in, probobly c:/program files/Epic games or something and then there should be a folder bin or binaries and then you just look for the folder that contains startup.exe and then you left click and press "Paste" Then all you have to do is click on gears of war on your desktop if you put a shortcut there or whatever and then a window pops up, Click play and enjoy! I'm at act 2 and I haven't had any problems (Exept a really inconsistant framerate, Not sure why. Mabye my cpu isnt powerfull enough? X2 5000+ @ 2.7ghz)But it's a great game! There's no possible way to play online is there?

Question... i finished downloading, extracted to external HD, installed but didnt do the daemon tools part because i didnt read that. So it wouldnt work and I deleted it. I extracted it again and now when I run the setup it asks if i want to remove the program instead of install it. I cant find any trace of it on my external HD so I dont know why it is asking if I want to uninstall it. What do I do?

Alright one last thing about this torrent even though it isnt related to the torrent itself! Real works perfect buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut More about the game itself. It lags sometimes when I play like when i'm running or doing any fast movements. My specs are

8600 gt(this is where I think the problem is)

But the game runs smooth, It's just like choppy, not in a slow laggy way but in a skippy way if that makes any sence.

This game works great. Unrar, install, copy crack, make an offline account and play. Quite a fun game. :)

It might be your HDD mate, if your HDD is badly fragmented, the game might run a bit choppy.
Try defragging it with perfectdisk or something like that.
Either that or your HDD is on its way out. It is worth noting if all your other software is running slower as well, a good indication of a dodgy HDD!
I had the same prob as well a while back. F.E.A.R. started running slower on my system, tried defraging my HDD and it helped a little bit.Eventually got a new HDD, and i was back in business, running F.E.A.R. on full settings without any probs!

Also, if your system is overclocked, try setting it back to default.
Believe it or not, but alot of the time, overclocking can actually reduce performance if it's not done right!

Hey, anyone know how to fix the wargame.exe problem? I can't play for more than 5 minutes before the game just shuts off. I know this was a problem with the retail releases but the way to fix it (do the live update and then restart the game) doesn't seem to apply since I haven't been asked to update or what not. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT: Temporary fix for those with the same problem! Just Alt+Tab out of the game then go back in. You'll still be able to play. It's somewhat annoying but it works for now.

i have an intel pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, Radeon X1950 Pro agp 8x, and yet this game still lags a bunch. anyone have similar problems and know how to fix them? i even put most of the video settings to low. the game's definitely real though and doesn't crash at all.

I downloaded and installed the game without a problem but when i try to run it, it says "the dvd-rom connot be located. Please insert the correct dvd-rom, click OK, and restart the application." and then there is an OK button. I had it mounted with d-tools and when that didn't work i mounted it with acohol 120%. still doesn't work. can any help me? would it worked if a burned it to a dual layer dvd and then loaded it off that? (i would prefer it load from the hard drive though)

i use power iso to mount the iso file(i forgot teh name).
People say when u do that the instalation process should start but it does not,
some people say if it does not start click 2 imes on vertual but for me it just opens the

Dudes, got a problem.

After installing the game, copied and replaced the startup.exe file from the folder Razor1911, I run the startup.exe file and get a message saying: "You cannot run the game with modified executable code. Please reinstall the game."

I did reinstall the game, twice actually; and did the same process with the crack.

Still can´t play the game.

Can any master guru help me out with this problem?

First download the official update from here.

Same problem. I installed the patch that was posted by Drugnov. Got past ESRB warning, Epic Games Spash, M$ splash, then the game crashes. The patch altered the Startup.exe when it ran, so this patch may not work with the patched .exe from the Razor1911 folder...

ok i mounted the iso with power iso installed it. I cant find where it installed to it shows up no where on my computer but i can get the luanch menu to come up. when i click play it says i need to insert the disk. So i burnt the iso to a disk and tried runnig it from there and it didnt work any idea what im doing wrong.

if you really can't find where you installed it, which should be in your Local Disk Program Files.....then simply remove it and re-install it except this time set the install folder to somewhere you know, for instance the file with the Gears of War iso in it. As for the inserting disk problem, just apply the crack. the crack is in the iso. mount the iso, go to My Computer, right click the iso file and click Explore. then the contents of the iso will show up. There should be a file called "Razor1911" . open it and there should be a "Startup" application. replace this application with the one in your install directory. then your game should run just fine. If you ever get the "game can't run with modified executable program" or something like that, change your computer's date to some time before 1/27/09 or you can simply apply the patch. if you want to install the patch, you must do so BEFORE you replace the Startup with the Crack. (patch link is above, scroll up)

I was having the same problem as iceman17 and war31ock where i did everything suggested by installing and updating with the patch , and applying the crack in the razor1911 folder on the iso, and when i started the game, it would crash during startup after the Epic Games and Microsoft screens. After much research reading from this forum and the epic games forum (found here: http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=596618&highlight=game+crashes+startup), i found a solution:
1. After torrent completes, run winrar and click File, Open Archive and go to the directory with the torrent files for the game. It does not show any readable archives, so click the "Files of type:" tab and select to show all files. Now it shows all the files in the torrent folder such as "rzr-gowa.001", "rzr-gowa.002", ....etc. Select the rzr-gowa.001 file and click open. Now you will see winrar able to extract the Gears of War iso archive. Extract that image!!!!
2. Either burn the image to a disc, or use an drive emulator like Daemon tools or Power iso to mount the image, and INSTALL THE GAME!!!!
3.Once, the game is installed, get the Gears of War Update patch as listed all over in the forums:
(found here : http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/1/A/51A3F34C-E65D-47D1-9E28-02E3356FEC3F/GearsPC_TU3_Microsoft.exe)
4.After the patch is installed, get a cd crack; people say replace the startup.exe in your install directory with the one in the razor1911 directory of the cd, but this caused the game to crash for me. So, i tried this one in Soulxlight's post:

I accidentally replaced the setup.exe file with the one in th razor 1911 folder and now i cant get it back, any ideas?
