Okay guys, I got it working!
Here are the steps:

1. Add the following line in your hosts file located on C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc (not the iCalendar one!)
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com

2. Choose Manual installation

3. Unselect everything you can, except Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Bridge

4. Use the keygen to register the application.

TIP: For step 1, open Notepad.exe as an Administrator. Then, copy everything that's in your hosts file(just open it with notepad to see what's inside) into your opened notepad application, along with "127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com". Then save it in "C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc". When it asks you if you wish to override the hosts file, click yes.
Also replace all "/" with a backslash if you have to, as Torrentz doesn't allow them in comments.

joe, try killing all those apps running the system tray, by the clock. disable norton, definitely shut down the torrent client which might be attempting to share it. also try: install winrar, right click setup and try to extract to [folder name] and see if you can find any useful executeables inside. also, open folder options and uncheck "hide file extentions" that's a terrible default option by windows.

and try advice by JethroStaenic - altho that's not really the clearest first step, good luck

How I add the "127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com" line to my host file? It is a file that cannot be opened by the Windows. Please tell me how to type the line above in a file like that!

Open notepad. Click File>Open. Scroll to c:windowssystem32driversetc. To view the "hosts" file click Files of types, select All Formats. Click on hosts. at the bottom it should say
127.0.0.1 localhost-ad a line and enter below...
127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com

Yep that worked just fine. then only leave photoshop, bridge, and all supporting components checked. you should have no problem with that.

Sorry about this but I'm still having trouble.
I did step one in which Jethro suggested, but I still get the error message.

I added the line into the hosts file, saved it, and disabled all torrent clients, firewalls etc going on down in my taskbar, as shown in this screen shot:

Troubles installing Photoshop CS4 on Vista SP1 64bit. It keeps asking for CD/DVD. Some thing can't be unselected (support files).

To the one who has a problem with the "insert a CD" thingy.
I recommend you guys to download a trial at the site.
When it's all clear to go, then it will say that you have like 30 days of trial or write the serial numbers. Then you use the keygen and tada there you go.

Can someone please help me.
It keeps asking for the disk. Here is what i have done so far:
- I edited the Hosts file in etc map
-Ran the setup
-used keygen
-Unchecked EVERYTHING except Photoshop CS4 64 bits and Bridge CS4
-It starts installing but at a certain moment it keeps aksing for the disk.

I tried EVERTHING, renaming the instal map, placed it directly on the c: drive and installed from there, nothing worked.
Can please anyone help me because this is getting kinda furstrating.

Guys, I downloaded this on my XP machine, it installs fine and works perfectly, however when I run the installation setup file on my Vista x64 machine, it keeps asking for a disc. I see many people here have this problem... any solution?

I downloaded the trial version from the adobe website, then used a keygen thingy to give me a code, used that and it seemed to work but next time I opened the programme I got a message "Excuse the interruption but... our records indicate the serial number used to set up this software is invalid".

I've tried using the numbers posted by JordzzB, to no avail, same thing happens again, they get accepted, I can use the application, but I'll get the message above next time I open it....

Anyone has any suggestions? PLEASE??? :)

Ok, as a follow up to my comment above, I think I cracked it, with some help from the other half!

I found the instructions to resolve this problem posted by JordzzB further up the page, but it would not let me overwrite the do **** ent, saying I didn't have rights to do so. I thought that since my profile is set up as an administrator, I would have full rights, but apparently not (I'm working with Vista and I'm really new to it, so this may have made all the difference).

So anyway, if you're having the same problem as me, this is how we found a way round it: you need to find the actual executable file for notepad, not just the shortcut, and ask to open it "as an administrator". I guess this is what JordzzB meant, obviouly I misunderstood the instruction (thinking I'm already logged in as an administrator, so I don't need to do anything special)

I then followed his/her instructions and used a keygen to get a new code. Seems to be working now, have closed down and re-opened the programme a few times and no hiccups so far.

Fingers crossed!!! Hopes this is not too confusing and it helps someone :)

The application is sweet. However, I have trouble with the serial number and with using keygen. The serial numbers I use continue to come back invalid after using the application a few times. Plus, keygen will not allow me to download from its site. I looked for a place to register at keygen but did not find a location to login/register.

For those who think only a Serial Key is needed for this to work. Your wrong! When you use a serial, the program automatically grants it, but when you next initialize the program, it tells you invalid serial. This is because adobe has been notified that you are using an incorrect serial therefore it is denying you access to the program.

That is why you have to manually activate it, where you trick your computer and adobe into believing you have brought the software.

To those who are having trouble using it in vista, then download it from adobe and activate it that way. I done it and it worked so im sure you can and im sure you can trust adobe over torrentz.

It all works fine.. when I want to save the file it askes me whether I wish to overwrite and when I click YES.. it says that I can't save the file and I should check if I used the right usersname or path..or something like that

and I don't know what to do right now.. can anybody help me with this?

This does not install on vista 64bit, will ask for cd even when unchecking everything you possible can.
