So the question is: Can i burn this iso and then boot it from the iMac and then install on a new harddrive or does it require to have Tiger already installed?
Thanks for your help!

I recently purchased a new Mac, and it came with Tiger, I had to wait for my free copy of Leopard from Apple. But I was too impatient, so I downloaded this "osx-leopard105.iso" and installed it, it seems to work fine, you can get updates from Apple etc...
BUT LittleSnitch reported a connection attempt tonight from the mach_kernel process to an IP address located in Israel !?!?
Here's the log:
Connection report for process: Mac OS X Kernel (/mach_kernel)
Total: 0 Bytes sent, 68 Bytes received
87.68.156.103.cable.012.net.il (87.68.156.103), Port 56262 (unnamed), Protocol 6 (TCP), 0 Bytes sent, 68 Bytes received
I'm not sure what's going on exactly here, but I would stay away from this hacked version of Leopard...
Just my 2 cent.
I suppose i'll just have to download this and find out because there are conflicting opinions.
quick question for everyone: this is 7gb. isnt the real version like 6gb??? is there a difference? im downloading an old demonoid torrent of this and its 6.66gb.

System Requirements
To run Mac OS X Leopard, you must have a Macintosh computer with:
- An Intel processor or a PowerPC G4 (800 MHz or faster) or G5 processor
- A DVD drive
- Built-in FireWire
- At least 512 MB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended for development purposes)
- A built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
- At least 7 GB of disk space available, or 12 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools
If you see a message in the Mac OS X Installer stating you do not have enough disk space to install Mac OS X, you can deselect items to save space. To deselect items, click Custom Install in the Easy Install panel.
Important Installation Instructions
This seed cannot be installed directly from the disk image, you can either 1) burn the disk image to a double layer DVD disc (recommended method) or 2) restore the disk image to a hard disk partition to install the build on another partition. Details below.
Procedure to burn bootable DVD for installation:
Requirements:
1. A DVD drive capable of burning double layer DVDs
Here's how to check to see if you have such a drive:
- Launch "Systems Profiler" in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder
- Under Hardware, click on "Disc Burning"
- If you see Under "DVD-Write", "+R DL" is listed then your machine has the ability to burn double layer DVD discs.
2. A blank DVD+R DL media
Procedure:
1. Launch Disk Utility (found in /Applications/Utilities/)
2. Click the Burn button in the Toolbar
3. Navigate to and select the disk image then click the Open button
4. Insert a blank DVD+R DL disc into your DVD burner
5. Click the Burn button
Procedure to install Leopard using hard disk partitions:
Requirements:
1. Three hard disk partitions internal or external (you could use 2 but 3 recommended)
NO
Requirements:
1. Three hard disk partitions internal or external (you could use 2 but 3 recommended)
NOTE: For Intel Macs, your "Partition Map Scheme" must be "GUID Partition Table". For Power PC Macs, your "Partition Map Scheme" must be "Apple Partition Map". Check by doing this: In Disk Utility, click on the volume, click on Partition, See "Partition Map Scheme" listed at the bottom.
2. The "Leopard_Client_9A559.dmg" disk image (on partition 1)
Brief summary:
1. Booted into partition 1, using Disk Utility, restore the "Mac OS X
Installer Disk Image" onto partition 2
2. Boot into partition 2 and install Mac OS X on partition 3
Procedure:
1. Setup:
- partition 1: Your current boot up volume, also containing the downloaded "Leopard_Client_9A559.dmg" disk image
- partition 2: Ready for the Leopard install disk image to be restored on
- partition 3: Ready for the Leopard OS to be installed on
2. Launch Disk Utility and do the following:
- Click on the partition 2
- Click on the Restore tab
- Drag the "Leopard_Client_9A559.dmg" onto the Source field
- Drag partition 2 onto the Destination field (Note: partition 2 will be erased.) (Note: Drag the partition from the disk list in Disk Utility and not Finder.)
- Click on Restore
3. Boot into partition 2, you will be booted into Mac OS X installation process
4. Install Mac OS X onto partition 3
(If you have only 2 partitions, you will have to erase and install onto partition 1)
Known Issues
- Archive installs from Tiger to Leopard sometimes will not succeed on Power PC systems if you try to preserve user settings. Please perform an upgrade install or clean install or opt out of preserving user settings to work around this. Intel systems are unaffected.
- If you have HP printers connected to your system or are upgrading from a Tiger system with HP printers already configured, please perform a custom install and de-select the HP printer drivers in the installer. The HP printer d
Do not download this, this is not retail. Retail version build is 9A581 according to WIKI.

I'll confirm when I finish downloading. It's going really slow. But why can't there be an update included with the iso here?
thnx
people please read the comments before asking questions. so many people keep repeating the same questions. if u take the time and read it ull learn!! basic concept!
I dowloaded this torrent, open the .iso file, burned into a DL DVD and restarted the machine. Everything seems to be fine, the machine reboots, I can hear the DVD drive working, I see the blue screen with the apple logo and the spinning thing going and all of a sudden it just hangs. I tried leaving the machine there and after one and a half hour was the same. So I rebooted in verbose mode (command-V) and these are the last lines where it stops:
Extension "com.apple.iokit.IOBluetoothFamily" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style

I tried also disabling Bluetooth, but it didn't work either.
Is anyone having the same issue? Did you get it to work?
Is there any other good torrent that worked for you guys. Could you post the link?

There is another person by the name of "pmfabri" who is testing this on CherryOS and PearPC.
If it works or requires patching tuts will be posted for VMWare.
"pmfabri" with his attmpts, have no idea what his status is though=/
