OK! Im getting a free iMac G5 from my dads work tomorrow, Its harddrive crahsed and he asked if i wanted to try and fix it.
So the question is: Can i burn this iso and then boot it from the iMac and then install on a new harddrive or does it require to have Tiger already installed?

ok question. so im dloading this and a dmg version of it from another site. the other site says something about burning the dmg onto a dl dvd in order for it to work. i know how to use disk utility to do this, but after i burn the dvd, wat do i do with it? just open it up and install??? they also mentioned something about "erase and install" which i dont understand. does anyone know wat theyre talking about??? thanks!!!!

I recently purchased a new Mac, and it came with Tiger, I had to wait for my free copy of Leopard from Apple. But I was too impatient, so I downloaded this "osx-leopard105.iso" and installed it, it seems to work fine, you can get updates from Apple etc...

BUT LittleSnitch reported a connection attempt tonight from the mach_kernel process to an IP address located in Israel !?!?

i burned it to a dual layer dvd using nero burning rom. (torrent it =) ) i have heard that the fnal build number was supposed to be 9A559 or 9B18. i did a soft ware update and I already have os x leopard 10.5.1. the bugs that were in the beta are fixed on this one and it works fine. i have not had a problem with it yet. I am also downloading the 9A559 and im goingto see if it has the bugs the beta did. i will verify once i have done so.

i just got a call from my frien who bought os x leopard. his build release on the dvd after updating to 10.5.1 is 9B18. THIS IS THE FINAL PRODUCT.

to burn it use nero burning rom. all you do is drag and drop the ISO file over the nero burning rom icon on your desktop. i downloaded this on my windows operating system through torrent and i used nero. i'm not sure if nero burning rom or any iso burning program is compatiable with mac.

i have done that already and used nero, its doesn't want to set-up, it shows the setup screen then reboot then back to my normal window. please advice thanks, by the way thanks for the answer

How is it that there's a copy of 10.5.1 here if (according to the article linked from wikipedia) only 10.5 dvd's came out retail (10.5.1 is an update you dl from the page)? If only 10.5 dvd's came out then this got installed, and then copied to a dvd which I wouldn't trust at all. Can someone confirm/deny that only 10.5 dvd's came out?

hi champ123, i used disk utility for the ipod and just drag and drop the mounted file to the ipod, it din't erase my songs or what so ever, but make sure that enable disk use for your ipod, then go to start uo disk used ipod as the start up and thats it, it will automatically install.

I'll confirm when I finish downloading. It's going really slow. But why can't there be an update included with the iso here?

If the rar (that's why I don't understand the thing with raring this stuff, you can't see the files you're dling) contains an iso and the .dmg update separately then fine, I don't think there's a problem. But if the rar only contains an iso, and the result of the installation is in fact 10.5.1 then either someone took a long time to update all the files in the iso with the files from the .dmg updater (which I don't think would be feasible since anyone can dl the update) or something else (that something else is what makes me doubt). That's of course if I understand the info from wikipedia correctly and only 10.5 came out retail and 10.5.1 came out as an updater.

Do I have to instal this onto an iPod or separate disk? Because the first time I did this it ruined my mac.

u can do it through a dl dvd, partitions on a separate disk, ipod, and maybe usb. i posted a nice tutorial if u scroll up a little.

Here is my issue:
I dowloaded this torrent, open the .iso file, burned into a DL DVD and restarted the machine. Everything seems to be fine, the machine reboots, I can hear the DVD drive working, I see the blue screen with the apple logo and the spinning thing going and all of a sudden it just hangs. I tried leaving the machine there and after one and a half hour was the same. So I rebooted in verbose mode (command-V) and these are the last lines where it stops:

I finally made it work two days after my comment, as follows:
I converted the .iso file into .dmg using Disk Utility and burned onto a dl dvd and voila, it worked!!

Becuase i was downloading one made by Kalaway or something, and it came with a patch and a program to patch the iso, so would i be able to use that program and patch this ISO so it will work on my AMD System that i have? here are my specs
