Can someone please talk me through getting the subtitles working?

I went to the free-codecs website above and downloaded the program. Installed it. Tried to open subtitles by themselves, doesnt' work. Playing movie in divx, no subtitles at all. Playing in windows media, no movie (tho it thinks it is playing, just no pic or sound and the timer doesn't change.
I can't find a faq or help anywhere. Am getting frustrated. Please, if you know what i've missed, help....

Well.... or you can open the subs that come with the movie with a text editor and using "replace" replace every <fontcolor #fffff> and with blanc! Worked perfect for me! The only thing tho is the bit torrent client you are using will try to undo your work, so it's a good idea to save the new sub file in an other file and manually add it to the movie

The movie is gr8 by the way!

Just open het movie with BSPlayer and load the subtitels.

THX Axxo...another groovy release, thx for the heads up Banjomamba on the subs...neat.....anyone who's havng trouble with subs etc...just download BSPlayer...load the movie....load the subs file and the player does the rest....anyone having trouble with vid codecs, get the DIVX bundle and anyone having trouble with sound, try the AC3 filter...

quality is a bit low wish he could of uploaded into bigger file the movie is long and yes the subtitles are a lil bit **** y.

For those having a problem with the 'font color' thing on the subtitles, theres a really easy way to solve it. Open the file with notepad, highlight it all, paste it in Word, or some programme of a similar type. Then do a search for the exact annoying thing it displays I believe it is, then when theyre all highlighted, delete and then paste the amended script back into notepad and save the file. Job done, subtitles fixed. It took me about 30 seconds to do. Hope that made sense. Enjoy.

i have a mac, and i can't get bsplayer. i don't know what other players i can use, for the subs to work. anyone know something that is mac-compatible, and could walk me step by step at it? thanks.

For those having a problem with the 'font color' thing on the subtitles, theres a really easy way to solve it. Open the file with Word,then copy goto EDIT menu down to REPLACE (or ctrl+H) paste into the FIND WHAT box and leave the REPLACE WITH box empty (blank),select REPLACE ALL and do the same with , Job done, subtitles fixed. IMPORTANT the FILE NAME MUST BE THE SAME ie {Pan's.Labyrinth[2006]DvDrip[Eng.Sub]-aXXo.srt}

Okay, usually I'm not this stupid, but I cannot get the subtitles to show. I downloaded both AXXO's movie and the SSA file, put them both in a folder, but when I play with WMP, no subtitles. Can someone please walk me through the process...step by step? I also use TVisto, and again, no subtitles. Help...please?

everyone: download COWON JetAudio, included subtitlefilter, media center and the whole bunch. I always use it to play .avi files and it has never failed me.
Great free software, way better than VLC in my opinion, subs are a lot easier to config.
just google it.

Just an information that people might know, you have to have the sub and the name of the movie the SAME. i just figeurd that out >.< meh lam so slow

Subbed through out as this movie was made by del torro in mexico.
Adult fariy tale, very surreal and well made, good ending that leaves you feeling, well watch it and see. NOT LIKE **** BOY, so if you are looking for something like that watch something else.

The subtitles work fine in Windows Media Player. Download the DirectVobSub codec. When you play the movie, an icon will appear in your system tray. Right Click on this and select "Show subtitles"
