i got this file from http://www.megaupload.com/?f=OT51MQG8. was a steady 1300K all the way. its 100% real but with no crack, so i used http://www.torrentz.com/f23daf5cffd7218c0af672083806b851a2f31bdd. i was looking forward to playing this game, but was severely dissapointed. the graphics are crap and the limiter they have put on is pointless. i may only have 320MB Vram, but its very overclocked and im running the game at 102 FPS average, but theres no way i can turn the graphics up. i wont be buying this till they either remove this feature or someone manages to make a work around.

Hey Woody07... if you want to make you;re graphics go higher then it wants you too just make a shortcut to the game and add the command line "-nolimits" and you will be able to over exten you're graphics settings. I had this issue as well. (To add a command line to a shortcut Right click on it >> Properties >> Target So when you add it you add it to the end of the TARGET box. So for instance you're shortcut is to "C:program Filesrockstar gamesGTAIV" That is what you will see in that box. All you have to do is add the command line to the end of it. So it would look like this [code]Target -> "C:program FilesRockstar gamesGTAIV" -nolimits [/code] MAKE SURE THAT THE COMMAND LINE IS AFTER THE QUOTES OR IT WILL NOT WORK!) Hope i helped.

Okay now for my problems. The game is awesome, and at maxed out graphics it looks nice for a GTA series game , But for some reason, after about 5 minutes of play the last vehicle i was in will accelerate uncontrollably (even if no one is in it) and the camera will rock back and fourth violently I am not sure what the cause of this is. i think it may be a bug in the crack that came with the Torrent, i'm trying a new crack (if i can find one) I'll report back with a link if it fixes this problem. It makes the game completely unplayable

a'right ppl... for those who are not able to raise the resolution of GTA 4 due to memory restrictions, there is a work-around.

goto graphic settings in gta... move the resolution slider to the desired resolution (must be supported by your monitor and GPU ) by dragging the slider. DO NOT let go of the left mouse button...keep it pressed as u complete dragging and then press 'space'. the resolution shud get updated.

OK! all problems solved! :)

1)Update to Windows XP SP3
2)download this torrent but not the crack that comes with this one... y has the drunken cam issue
3)download this one instead: http://www.mininova.org/tor/2127468 (you don't need the whole thing... just the folder with the crack + the update for your video card + xLive software update folder)
4)install the game (mount the images with whatever program you use, i used daemon toolz)
5) update your video card driver + update the Games for Windows Live software
6)Copy the crack files into the game folder
7)Once you are inside the game create an OFFLINE ACCOUNT for Games for Windows Live
8)Off you go :)

This is what worked for me... i hope it helps!

guys i have big problem
when i setup the game
i insert 1st CD in the deamon tool ( virtual CD )
and starting the setup
2- it gave me message that must insert 2nd CD
i change the CD from deamon tool and locate the place of 2nd CD (file data3.cab)
3- it gave me message that it can't read the file from CD and demand to change the CD or locate the correct path

i have a problem.i have the game burned to 3 dvd's,but during the installation it gets stuck on a file of data6.cab . if someone could please upload the file(data6.cab) or provide some solution to it I'd be really appreciate it. the exact error is cyclic redundancy check on the file manhat08.jpg(it's the last file at which it error).it says couldn't read data6.cab from device(the dvd has a few scratches on it)
