It depends on the dvd source and the way to transfer the movie on the dvd.

On the back cover of a dvd, if you read 16:9 or 1.77:1 or 1.78:1, that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be displa **** on the screen at 16:9 or 1.77:1 or 1.78:1.

"Wider ratios such as 1.85:1 and 2.40:1 are accommodated within the 16:9 DVD frame by additional black bars within the image itself." = That means picture+black bars=16:9; if removing black bars=True aspect ratio.

Edit: currently checking and doing some calculus on various releases of axxo, fxm, fxg, klaxxon, etc.
Aspect ratios of the starship troopers movies are ok, within the threshold :)

axxo's stuffs always good, though I'm not going to be downloading this torrent... I already downloaded all the movies before, don't see the purpose of re-downloading them. Anyways, all decent movies, but the first one's the best, other ones aren't nearly as good.

This ratio business ffila, doesn't mean anything to us, aren't most dvds copyright protected? I tried to make one the other day, didn't work out

starship troopers 3 kinda sucked, but it was alright, especially if you want to see more types of bugs

ffilou6, To tell you the truth there really isn't any calculating that needs to be done to find out if the video is 16,9 usually a good copy at 700mb or little over but still good enough to fit on a single cd is Resolution ranged at about 640 by 320 now if you see them less then 620 by 300 then the quality will change but the video will be 16, 9 still now I'm sure you guys around here are using widescreen monitors or tvs but for those who are using full screen its blacked out its because your screen is not 16,9 its 4,3 almost a complete square meaning the video is displaying a 16,9 but with black bars, that's normal now for those widescreen people i would say if your monitor or tv is 16,9 and is seeing black bars when playing theses axxo videos it means that there height has been cut down or the width sometimes most of the time its the height which isn't good so for best quality video i would go with 640x320 or higher as long as the width of ratio is 20 pixels or more sometimes 640 by 300 is ok but you will see a black line if not then your widescreen monitor or tv is covering the black lines. I know because I've got a HDTV 19" max 720p and well when displaying axxo releases i get good video but half of the videos that is released are not even good viewing on the 360 when streamed or on the xbox or **** even the dreamcast but for the pc i would say divx has some pretty good codec that you can barely see the difference. Anyways point is sometimes videos aren't good and sometimes they are if there not 16,9 and are not 620-640 higher x 300-320 higher then there not worth downloading.
