now there is a message error: "to play gears of war clik tu startup.exe" but i click in the file!!

I'm pretty new to this torrnts stuff but i have downloaded this game and tried to follow the instructions to install.
1.: Unrar with 7zip ( its multiparted & 7z* is recommended )
2.: double click: Gears.of.War.Launcher.exe ( must be done! )
3.: double click: MakeDesktopIcon.exe and run game with!.
I have tried to do this but when i unzip the file the file makedesktopicon.exe is not there. instead i have the makedesktopicon file but it is still compressed. When i try to unzip it i get a file with the name tmp.crc.
Can anyone who has got this working tell me what i might be doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Look, this release by ToeD is as REAL as they come! But it's a Game Rip people, so you won't find any disc-images (MDS/MDF,CCD,CUE/BIN,ISO) to burn or mount here! Traditionally, as a kid, Purists like me have sta **** away from Rips because--by their very definition--this subcategory of releases had to see some things go (e.g. videos,music,etc), and so multimedia freaks like me couldn't have that, could we. But NOT anymore!
With the advent of the modern Web, the unprecedented speed of broadband, our incredible disk-storage potential these days, the relentless power of the BitTorrent and ED2K networks, and the generous works of Dopeman, Skullptura, ToeD and MANY other Scene heroes, Game Rips have entered a new era. They are ALMOST as complete as their disk-image counterparts. In fact, unless otherwise noted, the ONLY thing missing from this new generation of Rips (for them to have qualified as a Game Rip at all) is their multilingual capability. In other words, major ripped releases nowadays are English-only, with a few exceptions, of course. But that's not really a problem, 'coz most Net users are also English-proficient--relatively speaking.

1- unpack the archive files using Winrar 3.7x or 7-zip
2- install Microsoft Xlive Redist, you can find it in Microsoft official webpage
3- install DirectX runtime, Nov2007 or newer one
4- install C++ runtime 2005
your game is ready now, and by the way, launch the game from Startup.exe in Binaries folder

1. Extract the files to C:ProgramFilesGearsOfWar using 7 zip(I tried in another drive but it isnt working )
2.click link n download xlive redist 1.2

6. Download the startup.exe from

7. Copy the 2 files (after u extract the above rar file) to Binaries (gears of war)
8. double click Gears.of.War.Launcher.exe (wait for it to say press Esc )
9.Click startup.exe in (C:ProgramFilesGearsofwarBinaries) ... and it'll start without any f*****g errors !!!!!

Hey to get past the loss of save game progress, be aware it is an xlive problem it is related to starting the game with your internet connection active if you did not register your xlive account through the game you will lose your progress. To never lose your progress start the game with your internet connection deactivated.

Manual backups of save game data can be done by locating the following folder through your user do **** ents and settings folder:
C:Do **** entsandSettings|yourusername|LocalSettings|ApplicationData|Microsoft|XLive|Content
|E000008E00EA2053|FFFE07D|00010000|E000008E00EA2053_MountPt
In this folder you will find a file called 4D530842.gpd this your save game data so back up to another folder you choose (It is a protected file folder so be sure to enable to view these file types in folder options). do this after every time u play - next time at startup game says no save data located, simply copy the backup to the original folder and all is well!!! enjoy!!! thx ToeD ur DA MAN!
