I downloaded the torrent and I have a MacBook. Download was slow but whatever, still seeding.
I was wondering what I would do if I wanted to install just The Sims 2 with none of the expansion packs.
All I want is the original game. I installed it, but I'm not sure how to apply the crack. What file do I replace with what other file and what-not because at the moment, all I'm getting is 'please insert original cd'.

Sorry about this but I'm still having trouble.
I did step one in which Jethro suggested, but I still get the error message.
I added the line into the hosts file, saved it, and disabled all torrent clients, firewalls etc going on down in my taskbar, as shown in this screen shot:

But when I open the setup, yet again I am shown this message :(

Please help, I am very interested in using this piece of software and so far I am yet to try it out.

Perfectly astounding. Watched this on an aluminum macbook with VLC and worked amazingly.
